LAS VEGAS - Leiana Oswald, a senior member of the UNLV women's volleyball team, has been named to the Academic All-District VIII Team. Oswald garnered second-team honors with a 3.79 GPA as a nutrition major.

The seven-member second-team is selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). CoSIDA District VIII and is comprised of the states of Alaska, California, Idaho, Hawaii, Nevada, Oregon, Utah and Washington, as well as the Canadian province of British Columbia.

Oswald is averaging 4.01 kills, 2.17 digs and 0.59 blocks per game, and has a .212 hitting percentage. She currently leads the Rebels with 349 kills per game.

In order to be eligible for the team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, must be a starter or important reserve and must be in at least their second season of competition at their current school.
