Rebels Win Season Finale

LAS VEGAS - The UNLV women's volleyball team defeated Weber State 3-0 (30-19, 30-26, 31-29) in its season finale at the Cox Pavilion on Friday night. Hawai'i took a 3-0 (30-26, 30-18, 30-27) decision over Kentucky in the early match.

With the win, the Rebels finish the season 14-17 and post a 9-4 record at home. With a win over Kentucky on Thursday, UNLV recorded a 2-0 mark in the Thanksgiving Classic. Hawai'i also went 2-0, while Kentucky and Weber State leave at 0-2.

Senior Leiana Oswald put up 15 kills on the night and finishes her career with a school record 1350 kills. Her two digs on the night gave her 812 in her career, another school record.

Junior Nicki King finished with five digs and 46 assists. King holds the school record for assists with 3197 in her three years at UNLV.

Senior Sheila Ocasio-Clemente led the team with 16 kills. She also tallied three block assists in the match, bringing her career total blocks to 353, just shy of Christel Eves' record of 359. Eves played from 1996-99.

Senior Patricia Assuncao finished the match with 11 kills. Her career total for kills sits second to Oswald with 1020.

Junior Tarin Keith added 10 kills and seven digs in the match.

Weber State was led by Michelle Smith who posted 11 kills and four digs.
