LAS VEGAS - The UNLV men's and women's swimming and diving teams competed in day two of the UNLV Winter Invite at the Buchanan Natatorium with UC Davis and UC Santa Barbara on Friday night.
The women's team opened the meet with a second-place finish in the 200 medley relay. The team of Jessie Bradshaw, Shayna Burns, Julie Unrau and Katie Wronn finished in a time of 1:46.90.
The men's team of Tiger Christian, Bjorn Eriksson, Michael Day and Jonathan Hugo also finished second in the 200 medley relay in 1:32 .59.
Michael Day finished second to UCSB's Patrick Ota in the 100 fly. Day finished in 50.94, while Ota won in 49.96.
Alyson Noble won the 200 free in 1:51.72. Lauren Browning (1:54.57) took fourth and Lani Seaman (1:55.95) finished fifth.
Shayna Burns took second in the 100 breast in 1:03.67. Lisa Adrade, swimming unattached, won in 1:02.76.
Bjorn Eriksson and Patrick Adams went 1-2 respectively in the 100 breast. Eriksson won in 56.86, while Adams took second in 56.87.
Jonathan Hugo finished second in the 100 free (50.74), behind UCSB's Patrick Ota who won in 49.63 seconds.
Friday's action was capped by a second-place finish by the women and a third-place finish by the men in the 800 free relay.
The UNLV Winter Invite concludes on Saturday beginning at 4 p.m. in the Buchanan Natatorium on the UNLV campus.
