LAS VEGAS - The UNLV men's and women's swimming and diving teams opened the three-day Winter Invitational with UC-Davis and UC-Santa Barbara on Thursday night.
The men's team opened the meet with a win in the 200 free relay. Jonathan Hugo, Brandon Nelms, Eric Culberson and Bjorn Eriksson won in a time of 1:23.44. Hugo also won the 50 free in 20.80. Nelms took third in the 50 free in a time of 21.22.
In the 200 IM, Michael Day, Tiger Christian, Curtis Robinson, Patrick Adams, Adam Martinson and Adrian Law finish 6th through 11th respectively.
On the women's side, Alyson Noble won the 500 free in 4:55.29. Shayna Burns took first in the 200 IM in a time of 2:06.10.
The team of Katie Wronn, Lauren Browning, Alison Zick and Bradshaw finished third in the 200 free relay in 1:37.60.
In the women's 50 free, Katie Wronn (24.12) and Jessie Bradshaw (24.29) finished third and fourth respectively.
The meet continues on Friday and Saturday.
