Lady Rebels Take On Mustangs

The UNLV women's basketball team (8-2) look to keep alive its home unbeaten streak, as they look for their seventh home win of the season in Tuesday's game against Cal Poly (4-4) at 5 pm. This is UNLV's second game on the season in the Thomas & Mack Center, they opened the year with a 77-41 win over Centenary on Nov. 21.

Tuesday is also a special day for the Lady Rebel program, as they will retire the jersey of former Lady Rebel and three-time All-American Linda Fr?hlich at halftime.

UNLV has the best overall record in the Mountain West Conference at 8-2, and have been sweeping up the MWC weekly honors as well, as a Lady Rebel has been named the conference Player of the Week four of the first six weeks of the season, with Sherry McCracklin the most recent for UNLV for the week of Dec. 29.

The Lady Rebels have been on a tear offensively this season, averaging 72.0 points per game, which leads the Mountain West Conference, and are a perfect 7-0 when they score 70 or more points.

UNLV will look to continue its strong play on the boards and on defense this afternoon. The Lady Rebels are outrebounding their opponents by 10.2 rebounds per contest which ranks them fifth in the country, and they also lead the Mountain West Conference in steals at 10.8 per game (30th in the nation).
