Dec. 8, 2003

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - UNLV's RanDee Henry was named the Mountain West Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday. She is the second straight Lady Rebel to earn conference weekly honors, as junior forward Sherry McCracklin was named for the week of Dec. 1.

Henry, a 6-2 junior forward from Detroit, Mich., scored a season-high 29 points on 11-of-16 shooting from the floor in UNLV's 90-75 win at Nevada, Reno on Dec. 6, the Lady Rebels' only action of the week. She also grabbed a season-high 14 rebounds to post her second double-double of the season, and added an assist, one block, and two steals for the game.

Henry currently tops the Mountain West in scoring with 19.8 points per game, and is tied for second in rebounding at 8.8 rpg. She also ranks among the league leaders in both field goal percentage and steals per game.

UNLV, 4-1 on the season and riding a three-game winning streak, has a two-game California road trip coming up this weekend, as the Lady Rebels will face Cal State Fullerton on Saturday, Dec. 13 at 5 p.m., before taking on Loyola Marymount in Los Angeles on Monday, Dec. 15 at 7 p.m.
