The Mountain West Conference announced the 2002 Academic-All-Conference team for volleyball today. To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have completed at least one academic term at the member institution, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better and be a starter or significant contributor to the team.

A MWC record 42 volleyball student-athletes earned MWC academic honors last fall, including 22 repeat selections from the 2001 squad. A league-high 10 UNLV volleyball student-athletes qualified for conference academic honors, followed by Utah with eight. BYU had seven honorees, followed by San Diego State and Wyoming with five each, New Mexico with four and Air Force with three.
