MALIBU, Calif. - Junior left-handed pitcher Ben Scheinbaum picked up his second win of the week in a 13-8 UNLV victory over Pepperdine on Tuesday afternoon. Scheinbaum (2-0) pitched in relief of starter Matt Wagner and gave up only one hit in two innings of work.

With the win, the Rebels improve to 17-7 on the season, while the Waves fall to 11-10.

Wagner, who threw two innings, gave up four run on three hits with two walks.

Robert VanKirk hit his team-leading seventh home run of the season and finished the game 2-for-5 with three RBI and two runs scored.

Fernando Valenzuela went 3-for-5 on the day. He drove in three runs and crossed the plate once. Peter White also finished the game with thee hits. He finished the game 3-for-4 with one run scored.

Andrew D'Angelo and Eddie Gill contributed a pair of hits each.

UNLV travels to BYU for a three-game series beginning on Thursday.
