Baseball Drops Rubber Match At UNR

RENO, Nev. - Brent Johnson hit his third home run in as many games in UNLV's 7-3 loss to Nevada, Reno on Sunday afternoon. He finished the game 3-for-4 with one RBI and a run scored.

With the loss, the Rebels fall to 10-5 on the season. The Wolf Pack improves to 5-11.

Jake Vose (2-3) picked up the loss for the Rebels. He gave up six runs on eight hits in 5.2 innings of work. He hit four batters, walked two and struck out five.

Matt Wagner pitched a solid 1.1 innings in relief. He gave up only two hits with a strikeout. Ryan Braun finished the final inning, giving up one run on one hit with two strikeouts.

Eddie Bonine (1-3) earned the win, giving up only two runs off five hits in 7.0 innings of work.

Patrick Dobson extended his consecutive game hitting-streak to 10 games with a home run in the seventh inning. He finished the day 1-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored.

Ryan Ruiz went 2-for-4 in the game with a double in the seventh and a home run in the ninth.

UNLV travels to Los Angeles for a 3 p.m. game with USC on Tuesday before returning to Las Vegas for a three-game weekend series with Memphis.
