LAS VEGAS - The Rebels are 6-3 this season after a pair of wins last weekend. Senior Leiana Oswald earned all-tournament honors at the Gonzaga Volleyball Classic after hitting .312 and averaging 4.79 kills per game. Oswald, who ranks second in the MWC with 4.72 kills per game, has notched at least 20 kills in four straight matches.
The Rebels also tied the MWC season-high with 14 aces in a five-game win at Gonzaga last week as junior Tarin Keith tied the individual league season-high with five.
UNLV travels to Hawai`i this week for the Sprint Hawai'i Invitational Championship with matches against No. 25 Loyola Marymount and the No. 2-ranked Wahine. Hawai'i moved its winning streak up to eight matches with a five-game victory over Stanford last week, while Loyola Marymount enters the tournament with a 10-1 record. The Lions won their first 10 games, but lost a four-game match to Washington State last week.

It will be a homecoming for a few Rebels as they make their way to the islands this weekend. UNLV head coach Deitre Collins led UH to back-to-back national titles in 1982 and 1983. She was the first national player of the year from Hawai'i and was inducted into the UH Circle of Honor in 1989.
Freshman Kristin Koochi is a 2003 graduate of Iolani High School and was a teammate of current Rainbow Wahine players Kanoe Kamana'o and Raecceen Woolford.
Assistant coach Matt Johnson spent three years on the Warrior volleyball team and seven years on its coaching staff, while assistant coach Erica Nash is the daughter of current Rainbow Warrior assistant basketball coach Bob Nash.
