UNLV (3-1) enjoys its first of two 2003 byes this week ... The Rebels are 3-1 for the first time since 1992 and for only the second time since 1986 ... UNLV's 33-22 victory over Hawaii gave it consecutive victories in a season for the first time since Oct. 6 & 13, 2001 ... Counting the 2002 finale, the Rebels have now won four of their last five games ... UNLV last won four of five games at the end of 2000, which included a victory in the Las Vegas Bowl ... The Rebels picked up votes in this week's polls, moving from 50th into a tie for 40th with BYU and Boise State in the USA TODAY/ESPN Coaches Poll with 11 votes and from 47th to a tie for 41st in the Associated Press with six votes ... Two teams UNLV has defeated this season are ranked ahead of the Rebels in the coaches' poll (Wisconsin at 30 and Toledo at 33) ... Friday's game was the Rebels' only home appearance in the month of September ... UNLV does not play in Las Vegas again until Oct. 18 vs. Utah ...
