Rebels Win Big In Alumni Game

January 30, 2004

LAS VEGAS - Scoring was not a problem for the UNLV Baseball team as it defeated the UNLV Alumni team 18-8 on Saturday afternoon at Earl E. Wilson Stadium. The win marked the second year in a row that the Rebels have defeated the Alumni in the annual contest.

Sophomore catcher C.J. Ebarb paced the Rebel scoring machine with a 3-for-3 performance at the plate with 4 RBIs and a two-run home run in the 8th inning.

Peter White added three runs for the Rebels, who amassed 19 hits in the game, while Jake Vose, Jason Guerra, and Matt Minor shared the duties on the mound.

The exhibition marked the final tune-up for the 2004 Rebel squad, which opens its season on Friday, Feb. 6, at 7:00 p.m. against Cal State Fullerton at Fullerton, Calif.
