The Lady Rebels (10-2) look for their sixth straight win and improve to 8-0 at home as they host Northern Arizona (6-5) on Sunday afternoon at 3 pm in the Cox Pavilion. This will be UNLV's last non-conference game of the year, before they open up the Mountain West Conference schedule on Jan. 17 against San Diego State. UNLV is also looking for revenge against the Lumberjacks after suffering an 85-76 overtime upset loss in Flagstaff, Ariz., last season, which was also the only win for Northern Arizona over a MWC team in its last 10 games against the conference.
UNLV has the best overall record in the MWC, and are dominating the conference statistics, as a Lady Rebel leads the conference in seven of the 12 categories, including scoring, rebounding, blocks, and steals. The Lady Rebels have been on a tear offensively this season, averaging 74.3 points per game, which leads the Mountain West Conference, and are a perfect 9-0 when they score 70 or more points. All 10 wins this year have been by 10 points or more, and their +14.9 winning margin is also top in the conference.
UNLV will look to continue its strong play on the boards and on defense. The Lady Rebels are outrebounding their opponents by 9.2 rebounds per contest which ranks them 15th in the country, and they also lead the Mountain West Conference in steals at 10.8 per game.
