LAS VEGAS - UNLV senior forward All-America candidate Sherry McCracklin will be out of action for at least two months after suffering an ankle injury in preseason workouts, head coach Regina Miller announced on Thursday.
McCracklin suffered a partially torn Achilles in her right ankle during individual workouts on Oct. 4. She is currently rehabilitating her ankle, and is expected to make a return to the court in December. McCracklin is one of four returning starters for UNLV this season, and averaged 12.9 points and 9.7 rebounds per game while earning All-MWC First Team and WBCA Honorable Mention All-American honors a year ago.
UNLV will open the season on Nov. 14 in Seattle, Wash., against Minnesota in the WBCA/BTI Classic.
