LAS VEGAS - UNLV's mascot Hey Reb is off to a great start in the competition to become the Capital One Mascot of the Year.

Hey Reb defeated Georgia's Hairy Dawg in a week one matchup and will now be pitted against Scratch from Kentucky.

Rebel fans are reminded to continue to vote for Hey Reb in his quest to become mascot of the year.
