Homecoming At High Noon

Oct. 4, 2004

LAS VEGAS - UNLV's next home football game on Oct. 16 vs. New Mexico -- which is also the school's annual Homecoming event -- has been officially set to start at noon after being selected to be shown on television as the Mountain West Conference Game of the Week, the league announced Monday.

The Rebels and Lobos will square off on ESPN+Plus' 22-station network and appear live in Las Vegas on KFBT-Gold 33.

UNLV has a 3-7 record in the MWC Game of the Week, including losing its last four appearances. The announcers for the game will be veteran play-by-play voice Gary Bender, new analyst Kelly Stoufer and returning sideline reporter Anne Marie Anderson.

A time for UNLV's last home game vs. Wyoming on Nov. 6 is still to be determined because of television considerations. UNLV plays this week at BYU as part of a special Friday night ESPN2 broadcast with kickoff set for 7 p.m. PDT.
