Lady Rebels Host West Coast All-Stars

Nov. 4, 2004

LAS VEGAS - The UNLV women's basketball team will play its one exhibition game of the season on Friday against the West Coast All-Stars in the Thomas & Mack Center. The game will tip-off at 5 p.m., and tickets will be $1.00.

The preseason favorites in the Mountain West Conference, the Lady Rebels are ready to take to the court for the first time in 2004-05, though they will play without two starters, as Sherry McCracklin and Nikki Hitchens are both sidelined until December with injuries. In addition to McCracklin, UNLV returns two other all-conference players, senior forward RanDee Henry, who led the conference in scoring with 17.7 ppg and was the MWC Newcomer of the Year, and junior guard Sheena Moore, an All-MWC second team selection who finished third in the league in scoring at 16.3 ppg.

UNLV finished the 2003-04 season with a 26-8 record and a trip to the WNIT championship game, its fourth-straight appearance in the postseason. The Lady Rebels will open the regular season on Sunday, Nov. 14 in Seattle, Wash., against No. 14 Minnesota in the opening game of the WBCA/BTI Classic.
