Following its first home loss of the season, 72-55 to first place Utah on Sunday, the UNLV (16-4 overall) women's basketball team is looking to remain in the conference race as they begin the second half of the Mountain West schedule at San Diego State (7-13, 2-5 MWC) on Saturday at 5 pm in the Cox Arena. Saturday's game will be broadcast by KENO 1460AM in Las Vegas, instead of KSHP 1400, due to a conflict with the UNLV baseball game against Western Kentucky, and will not be available over the internet.

At 5-2, UNLV is tied for second place with New Mexico, and is two games behind Utah (7-0), making every game important in the Lady Rebels' quest for the MWC regular season title. UNLV will be taking on a team it has owned recently, as the 76-58 win earlier this season over San Diego State in Las Vegas on Jan. 17 was the eighth straight win in the series for the Lady Rebels.

The Lady Rebels have been on a tear offensively this season, scoring 74.2 points per game, and have averaged 74.9 ppg in conference action. UNLV is a perfect 14-0 when they score 70 or more points, all but two of their 16 wins this year have been by 10 points or more, and have reached 90 points three times this season. On the other hand, San Diego State has been held under 60 points in its last five games, including a 56-29 loss to Utah on Feb. 5.

The Lady Rebels are dominating the conference statistics, as a Lady Rebel leads the conference in six of the 12 categories, including scoring, rebounding, and blocks.
