The UNLV women's basketball (18-4 overall, 7-2 MWC) team concludes its three-game road trip on Saturday night as the Lady Rebels take on Colorado State (14-9, 5-5 MWC) at 7 pm (MST) in Moby Arean. UNLV is looking to sweep the Wyoming-Colorado State road trip for the first time since 1999-00 after posting a 66-55 win at Wyoming on Thursday night. The race for the MWC regular season title has also begun to heat up, as with New Mexico's upset win over Utah in Albuquerque on Thursday night, both the Lobos (7-2) and the Lady Rebels are now just one and a half game behind the Utes (9-1) in the conference standings. With New Mexico coming to Las Vegas this Thursday, the Lady Rebels look to hold on to their second place standing when they take on the Lobos.
To remain in the hunt for the title though, UNLV will have to earn a win against CSU, a team that has been very successful against the Lady Rebels in Fort Collins. The Rams have won the last three meetings in Moby Arena, including a 74-36 pounding last season. UNLV has also never swept the Rams, while CSU earned a season sweep in 2000-01.
The Lady Rebels have been on a tear offensively this season, scoring 73.4 points per game, and have averaged 72.8 ppg in conference action. UNLV is a perfect 14-0 when they score 70 or more points, all but three of their 18 wins this year have been by 10 points or more, and have reached 90 points three times this season. Having reached 18 wins against Wyoming in its last game, UNLV has surpassed last year's win total, and is on pace for its second 20-win season in the last 12 years.
