LAS VEGAS (AP) - Junior forward Odartey Blankson scored a career-high 26 points and junior guard Romel Beck tied a career-high with 26 points to lead UNLV past Wyoming 95-80 in Mountain West Conference play Monday night at the Thomas & Mack Center.
J.K. Edwards added 15 points and 13 rebounds for the Rebels (15-9, 6-5), while Jerel Blassingame had 12 points and a career-high 13 assists. Blankson led all players with 15 rebounds for his 16th double-double of the year, which is a new MWC record for double-doubles in a season.
For Wyoming (10-15, 3-9), it was another rough time away from home. The team finished 0-11 on the road this season, its first winless road record since the 1974-75 season.
Junior guard Dion Sherrell led the Cowboys with a career-high 22 points, while Jay Straight scored 21 points, Mikel Watson had 14 and Joe Reis added 12.
The game stayed close throughout most of the first half, although Wyoming led by as much as seven points on two occasions. The last time was at 26-19 with 7:45 left in the half.
The Rebels, ahead 39-37 at halftime, led by only one, 49-48, with 15:25 left in the game when they went on a 26-5 run.
The Rebels shot 58.3 percent from the floor during the second half and were 5-of-7 from three-point range. UNLV also dominated at the free throw line, making 13 of 18 to the Cowboys' 7 of 9.
