LAS VEGAS - After winning a midweek contest against Southern Utah on Wednesday night, the Rebels will continue their home stand against the Jaspers of Manhattan College. Currently, the Rebels boast an impressive 8-1 mark at home.
Sophomore designated hitter Ryan Bird has emerged as an offensive threat after coming off of an early-season injury. Bird has is hitting .455 with 5 hits (all doubles) in his three games this season.
The remainder of the lineup has been consistently improving as nine Rebels now have batting averages over .300. Senior second baseman Ryan Ruiz and senior first baseman Eddie Gill are tied for the team lead in RBIs, with 17, while Ruiz and senior shortstop Peter White hold the lead in home runs, with 3 each.
The Rebel pitching rotation will see a bit of re-shuffling this weekend, as David Seccombe (6.00 ERA, 15K) will take the mound on Friday, followed by Jake Vose (3.12 ERA, 17K) on Saturday and Matt Luca (4.12 ERA, 23K) on Sunday.
The game times will be: Friday at 6:30 p.m., Saturday at 2:00 p.m., and Sunday at 12:00 p.m. All games will be played at Earl E. Wilson Stadium. Friday and Sunday's games will be broadcast live on KSHP 1400 AM.
