Lobos Too Loaded

COLORADO SPRINGS - The 49th-ranked UNLV women's tennis team fell to No. 29 New Mexico 5-2 in a key neutral-site league battle at Air Force's Academy Tennis Courts Friday.

The Lady Rebels, who had won three straight matches, dropped to 14-6 overall and 4-2 in the Mountain West Conference while the first-place Lobos improved to 16-3 and 4-0.

UNM began the morning by sweeping three doubles matches for one team point.

In singles play, UNLV won two of the top three matches for its only scoring. On Court One, Gyorgyi Zsiros used a super-tiebreaker to upset No. 73 Maja Kovacek 4-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-4). At No. 3, Anne Claire Ortiz-Luis swept Tiffany Robertson 6-2, 6-2.

UNLV will complete its regular season Saturday by taking on host Air Force.
