LAS VEGAS - Players will report to the Lied Athletic Complex Wednesday as part of the opening of UNLV football's 2004 preseason camp. After a series of meetings and physicals, the entire squad begins practice on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. This is the second camp since the traditional rookie practices were eliminated per NCAA rules. Also barred were two-a-day sessions on successive days during camp. In fact, the first of only four "double day" practices will not take place until Wednesday, Aug. 18. Morning and evening sessions, which begin at 7 a.m. and 6:30 or 7 p.m., respectively, will last approximately two to three hours and are free and open to the public, unless noted. All regular practices are scheduled to take place on the state-of-the-art Ernie Becker Sr. Practice Fields at Bill "Wildcat" Morris Rebel Park on campus. The Rebels open the 2004 season by traveling to 14th-ranked Tennessee for a special Sunday night game on Sept. 5, which will shown nationally on by ESPN2. UNLV's five-game home schedule kicks off Saturday, Sept. 18 vs. Mountain West Conference-rival Air Force. Season and single-game tickets are available now by calling 739-FANS.
