BOCA RATON, Fla. - The UNLV men's and women's swimming and diving team swept a dual meet at Florida Atlantic on Friday afternoon to wrap-up their winter break training trip. The Rebel men (5-1) claimed a 217.5-76.5 decision, while the UNLV women won 191-108 to improve its record to 6-4.

The men dominated the meet from beginning to end, starting with a win in the 200 yard medley relay, one of 11 first place swims on the day for UNLV. Matthew Morton was a double-event winning, taking first in both the 500 and 1000 frees. UNLV once again showed off its depth on the men's side, with eight more Rebels all winning one individual event. Bjorn Erickson was the 50 free winner, while John Byers took first in the 200 free. Jonathan Hugo and Adam Martinson won the 100 and 200 backs, respectively, while Patrick Adams was the 100 breast winning and Curtis Robinson touched first in the 200 breast. Michael Day swam to first in the 200 fly, and Eli Tanimoto placed first on the 1-meter board.

The Rebel women were almost as dominant, winning 10 events on the day, beginning with the 200 medley. Two double-winners paced UNLV, as Raluca Udroiu won both the 100 and 200 backs, while Kim Bonney placed first in both the 100 and 200 breasts. Also winning individual events were Amber Walker in the 50 free, Lauren Browning in the 200 free, Alison Zick in the 500 free, Nicole McLean on the 1-meter board, and Jessica Field on the 3-meter.

Both teams will return to action on Jan. 21 in a Mountain West Conference meet at Air Force.
