Finally playing at home after three straight games on the road to being their Mountain West Conference season, the UNLV women's basketball team (9-8, 0-3) is looking to break a losing streak as it hosts New Mexico on Thursday night at 7 pm in the Thomas & Mack.

Coming in at 0-3 in the league, which includes a pair of three-point losses, UNLV is looking to break into the win column with a victory over the Lobos. New Mexico, currently first in the MWC (14-2 overall, 3-0 MWC) also brings the nation's top defense (48.9 ppg) into Thursday's game, though UNLV counters with the top offense in the MWC (70.9 points per game). The Lady Rebels though will be looking to score over 70 for the first time in four games, while New Mexico has allowed over 60 points just twice this year, in losses to Texas (73-56) and at Minnesota (75-35). The Lobos have struggled in the first half in conference games, trailing at home to both Air Force and BYU, and holding just a three-point lead over Utah, before coming back in the second half to win all three, and have outscored MWC opponents 105-69 in the second half in the first three games this year.

Thursday is the first of two straight games in the Thomas & Mack. Following Saturday's game against Air Force, UNLV is on the road at Utah and BYU, giving them road games in five of the first seven contests of the year, but they will also play five of their final seven at home.

Also of note, junior guard Sheena Moore is just 39 points away from becoming the 14th Lady Rebel to score 1,000 points at UNLV, as she stands at 961 entering the game.
