UNLV freshman wide receiver Justin Marvel caught his first career pass, an eight-yard reception in the first quarter. He finished the game with two receptions for 26 yards before leaving the game in the second quarter with a separated left shoulder.
Ronnie Smith's 61-yard run in the second quarter was the longest run by a UNLV running back since Dominique Dorsey's 73-yard scamper against Wyoming on Nov. 2, 2002.
Sergio Aguayo kicked field goals of 32 yards in the first quarter and 36 yards in the second quarter. The sophomore improved to 9-11 on the year and has now made 17 of his last 20 attempts going back to last season.

Ganther's 155 yards were the most yards gained on the ground since Cecil Sapp had 157 for Colorado State in 2002.
UNLV QB Jarrod Jackson passed for a career-high 356 yards, which were the 16th-most in school history and most since Jon Denton totaled 401 yards vs. San Jose State in 1997.
Jackson's 29 completions were the eighth most in school history, a career high and the most for Rebel quarterback since Jon Denton's 31 at San Diego State in 1997.
Jackson's 54 attempts were the fourth-most in UNLV history and the most since Denton's 56 at SDSU in 1997.
UNLV TE Greg Estandia turned in a career-high 10 catches for 120 yards. He tied for the seventh-most receptions in a game by a Rebel and the most since Earvin Johnson had 10 at Nevada, Reno in 2003.
UNLV head coach Mike Sanford suffered his first-ever home loss after starting his career 2-0 at Sam Boyd Stadium as Utah has now defeated UNLV 10 consecutive times.
