LAS VEGAS - UNLV Winter Invite Info
The Rebel men's and women's swimming and diving teams are set to host the UNLV Winter Invitaitonal this weekend in Buchanan Natatorium on Saturday, Dec. 18 through Monday, Dec. 20. The meet features seven teams, including the host Rebels. Also competing will be Northern Arizona, New Mexico State, Cal State Bakersfield, Cal State Northridge, UC Santa Barbara, and San Diego State. The preliminaries began at 10 am all three days, with finals set to start at 5:30 pm.
The Rebel men will see action for the first time since Nov. 13, and are 3-1 on the year. Leading them is Joe Bartoch, who two weeks ago was runner-up in the 100 meter butterfly at the US Open Championships, and freshman Johann Claar, who owns the top times in the Mountain West Conference in three events.
UNLV's women's team comes into this weekend with a 2-3 dual meet record during the fall season, including 2-2 in league action. A pair of freshmen have paced the women this year so far, Bailey Kuestermeyer and Amanda Weinbrecht.
