IN THE BATTER'S BOX: UNLV remains at home to host Loyola Marymount in a single game Tuesday night at 6:30 p.m. (PST) at Earl E. Wilson Stadium. The Rebels have won three in a row at home after sweeping Air Force to open MWC play this past weekend.

LAST TIME OUT: UNLV swept a three-game series against Air Force at home last weekend to open up Mountain West Conference play. The Rebels outscored the Falcons 34-4 in the series as the Rebels' bats came alive. UNLV pounded out six home runs in the three games, including two each by Chris Bonnell and Justin Tellam. UNLV won by scores of 11-2, 10-0 and 13-2 to grab an early lead in the MWC standings. Bonnell drove in eight runs in the series to go along with his two round trippers. UNLV's shutout of the Falcons marked the first time this season that the Rebels held an opponent scoreless as they limited the Falcons to just two hits on the afternoon. CJ Lang hit his first home run of the season in the second game of the series, while Tyler Beranek did the same in the third game. In that final game UNLV had three players hit a home run in a game for the first time in 2005.

UNLV REBELS (9-15, 3-0 MWC): UNLV swept Air Force to grab first place in the Mountain West Conference after the opening weekend of play. The Rebels are being led at the plate by Chris Bonnell, who is hitting .328 (21-64). The sophomore first baseman has drilled three home runs and knocked in 15 RBI. Sophomore catcher Justin Tellam leads the Rebels with six home runs, which is a career high. Matt Fry is the top RBI man for the Rebels with 16 and CJ Lang leads UNLV with 20 runs scored. On the mound, Tuesday's starter Eric Brock is 1-2 in four starts.

LOYOLA MARYMOUNT: (8-12, 3-0 WCC): The Lions enter Tuesday's game exactly like the Rebels, as Loyola Marymount swept three games from the University of San Diego to open up West Coast Conference action. LMU is led offensively by Joe Frazee, who is batting .417 (30-72) with eight doubles, two triples and 10 RBI. Chris Pettit leads the Lions with three home runs.

UNLV AGAINST LOYOLA MARYMOUNT: UNLV leads the all-time series against Loyola Marymount 24-15 (.615). The last time the two teams played was during the 1999 season, when UNLV split a two-game series at home against LMU. The Rebels won the opening game 7-4 but lost the second game 20-11.

ON DECK: UNLV hits the road for a three-game series against New Mexico this weekend in Albuquerque, N.M., the first league games the Rebels will play on the road this year. Due to Easter and the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament, the game times have been moved from the original schedule. The first game of the series will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. (PST) with the second game Friday scheduled to start at 5:00 p.m. The final game of the series will be Saturday but a game time has yet to be determined due to the NCAA Tournament.
