MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - An 18th place swim in the 200 medley relay was the highest finish of the day for UNLV as six Rebels competed on the second day on action on Friday at the 2005 NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships at the University of Minnesota Aquatics Center.

The Rebel relay squad of Jonathan Hugo, Patrick Adams, Joe Bartoch, and Brandon Nelms swam a time of 1:29.02 to come in 18th place in the first event of the day in the morning preliminaries. In the next event for UNLV, Bartoch finished 38th in the 100 fly with a time of 48.28, while Michael Day was 39th at 48.44.

Adams and Bjorn Ericksson both swam in the 100 breast, with Adams taking 33th in 55.38, while Eriksson placed 36th in 55.78. Hugo was the final Rebel to swim on Friday, finishing 33rd in the 100 back at 50.02.

UNLV fell to 23rd in the team scoring with 16 points, all scored on Thursday. Auburn continues to lead with 338 points, while Stanford is second at 300, and Arizona is third with 292 points. The Rebels are the only Mountain West Conference school to have scored at the meet.

The three day meet concludes on Saturday.
