LAS VEGAS - Mike Jackson has been hired as UNLV's Director of Athletics Ticketing, the athletics department announced Wednesday.
At UNLV, Jackson will be responsible for the coordination and oversight of all athletics ticketing operations and policies. He will work closely with the Rebel Athletic Fund in regard to the priority points system, the Thomas & Mack Center, Sam Boyd Stadium and Cox Pavilion's ticketing and customer service programs, UNLVTickets and the sports marketing arm as it relates to athletics ticketing initiatives. He will also provide oversight for all NCAA, Mountain West Conference and University ticketing policies and guidelines. His employment at UNLV will begin August 4.
"Mike Jackson will be a tremendous asset to our ticketing operations, particularly in the areas of sales, donor relations, sponsorships, customer service and managing our ticket operations on gamedays," UNLV Director of Athletics Mike Hamrick said. "We are very pleased to add someone with Mike's experience and skills to our staff."
Prior to coming to Las Vegas, Jackson served as the Assistant Athletic Director for Ticket Operations at Wichita State University, a position he held since October of last year. Prior to his time in Wichita, Kan., he was the Director of Ticket Operations at James Madison University from 2002-04.
After getting his start in the athletics ticketing business at Western Kentucky University, where he served as the ticket manager from 1996-99, he spent 1999-2000 at Saint Louis University as its Director of Ticket Operations.
Jackson earned a bachelor's degree in business administration and physical education from Mount Union College in Alliance, Ohio in 1991 and earned his master's from Kent State University in physical education in 1995.
