LAS VEGAS - Players will report to the Lied Athletic Complex on Monday as part of the opening of UNLV football's 2005 preseason camp - the program's first with Mike Sanford as head coach.

The first week of practices (August 9-13), which will take place on campus on Ernie Becker Sr. Football Fields at Bill "Wildcat" Morris Rebel Park, are open to the public. However, in a change from previous years, the remaining practices are closed to the public during camp as well as throughout the regular season.

After a series of meetings and physicals on day one, the squad begins practice on Tuesday with the newcomers hitting the field from 10:00-11:35 a.m. while the veterans will go from 6-8 p.m.

The next two days will see the squad split into two with the Red Team practicing from 8:45-10:45 a.m. and the Silver Team from 6-8 p.m.

The full squad will practice once on Friday, August 12 from 8:45-11:05 a.m. and then again in full pads on Saturday, August 13 at that same time. August 13 is also Team Photo Day from approximately 6:30-7:30 p.m.

The Rebels will take their official team photo while also unveiling their newly redesigned uniforms. Fans are invited to bring out their cameras so they can meet the team and take photographs with and get autographs from players and coaches.

The Rebels open the 2005 season by traveling to New Mexico for a special Monday morning game on Sept. 5, which will be shown nationally by ESPN2. UNLV's five-game home schedule kicks off Saturday, Sept. 10 vs. Idaho. Season tickets are available now by calling (702) 739-FANS or logging on to www.unlvtickets.com. Single-game tickets go on sale August 15.
