Head Coach Mike Sanford:

Overall on the game: "I don't know what to say other than it was a great team effort, our kids kept fighting, they showed the same thing they showed last week except this time they won."

On Aguayo's game-winning field goal: "I had no doubt we were going to make that field goal. I smiled at Sergio and I said `this is what you play football for.'"

On what he said to Aguayo after the kick: "I said to him that I never had any doubt, I knew he would make it. It was against the wind and that was the issue with making some yards. That was a little hairy that we lost yardage on the second down play and got third and 14. But we did feel that we were in his range."

On the game: "That was a grinder. I might have a hard time going to sleeping tonight. That was quite a game going back and forth and we kept saying `hey we gotta answer a score with a score. If something bad happens we have to make something happen'."

On the play of Idaho: "I got to give a lot of credit to Idaho. They did a nice job throwing the football. Wichman did an excellent job. I'm just excited as heck that we came up with a win."

On going for it on 4th and 8 late in the game: "I think those are the kind of deals where you are real smart or you are real stupid. We called timeout and I discussed it with Vic Shealy, and just where the ball was, our field position and our confidence and Sergio to win the game, we just felt like we were going to make it."

"We also didn't think it was the right thing right there to punt and it was too far out for a field goal obviously. We didn't want to punt because they were moving the ball on offense and our defense was a little tired and beat up."

Shane Steichen

Taking hits: "I put on some pounds but no enough. I took a few shots out there and they are a pretty good football team. They played hard and tough and didn't quit."

On the quick start: "That was our big thing in practice. We did a fast start thing in practice all week that we were running as a team situation in practice. Last week that killed us. That first quarter was the difference in the game and we wanted to come out and start fast and we did that."

On the night Estandia had: "Greg's a great player, he's a big target and he made some great catches tonight."

On the Game: "It was a battle. We had until the end and let it slip away. We have a lot of football left to play this season and we need to take advantage of the games we have coming up."

"It was definitely a close game from beginning to end. There were two teams battling it out to the finish. We made some costly mistakes which you can't let happen."

On the Team: "I thought we ran the ball really well and individually the guys played better. We still have things to get better at - we can't miss field goals, drop punts and drop passes."

"Offensively we moved the ball really well. Defensively, we can't continue to get the ball thrown over our heads. We have to do a lot better job of that."

"All of the 15-yard penalties really hurt us. [UNLV] had their share of penalties as well but the penalties really hurt us."
