Jan. 28, 2006

LAS VEGAS - The 41st-ranked UNLV women's tennis team posted its second 7-0 shutout in as many days, this time over New Mexico State on Saturday at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.

In singles play, super sophomore Elena Gantcheva, the nation's eighth-ranked singles player, improved to 18-5 with a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Isabelle Mignot at the top spot.

Also winning for the hosts were Nikol Dimitrova on court two, Sharon Marin, who needed a third-set super-tiebreaker to win at No. 3, Cindy Treber on court four, Claire Smith on court five and Linda Tempelfelde at the sixth position.
