LAS VEGAS - UNLV cross country will conclude its regular season schedule Saturday morning at the Santa Clara Invitational, a 5k race that will take place at Baylands Park in Sunnyvale, Calif.

Head coach Tony Houchin will be taking six athletes to the meet, which gets underway at 9:30 a.m. (PDT) with the men's 6K, followed by the women's race at 10:15 a.m.

Sophomore distance runner Jenni Shearer will be attempting to continue her streak of being the Rebels' top finisher, which is currently at 10 meets, including four this season. She will be joined by Ali Ainsworth, Gabriella Benito, Tanesha Carr, Ernestine Johnson and Laura Lundin.

UNLV will be in a field of 14 teams that includes Hawaii, Nevada, Reno, San Diego State, Stanford and UC Davis.

After taking the following weekend off, the Rebels will compete at the 2006 Mountain West Conference Cross Country Championships, held this year at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City on Nov. 11.
