Rebels Sign Nehf For The Court

Nov. 17, 2006

LAS VEGAS - One future Rebel, Sara Nehf, signed a national letter of intent to enroll at UNLV in the fall of 2007 and to play volleyball, head coach Allison Keeley announced.

Nehf, currently a senior at Grandview High School in Aurora, Colo., comes to UNLV after playing the last three years for the Wolves. Nehf has been a member of the Grandview varsity team since her sophomore season of 2004 and has primarily played as an outside hittier and middle blocker. In her three years at Grandview, she had the luxury of playing on a team that won the Colorado state championship in 2004 and 2005. This past season the team finished as the state runner-up.

During her senior season, Nehf served up 44 aces and threw down 230 kills, while hitting at a .302 clip. Defensively, she amassed 151 digs and had 83 total blocks (30 solo).

"Sara is an exciting and athletic player that will help the Rebels around the net," said Keeley. "She comes from a strong high school program that has challenged for state titles the three years that she was a varsity player. She was part of a class that has two of her teammates recruited to other NCAA Division I programs. Her numbers speak for themselves. She is a well-rounded player that not only played well on the offensive side of the net, but was able to play a defensive game, as well."
