Final Stats

LAS VEGAS - UNLV (4-1) needed its big bats on Sunday morning in its 3-2 win over Kentucky (3-2) as back-to-back home runs and a good relief effort was enough to give the Rebels their fourth win in five games.

The game was scoreless through the first 2.5 innings until UNLV plated the first run of the game. Jaci Hull began the inning with a walk and was pinch run for by Becky McDonald. Marissa Nichols followed and reached on an error hit to the shortstop. Brittany Bolinger pushed the runners into scoring position with a sacrifice bunt. Maggie Livreri brought McDonald home with a sacrifice fly to center.

Kentucky took a short-lived one-run lead following its two-run fourth inning. Meghan Cooper singled to short and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt by Katie Campbell. Megan Glenn singled to Jaci Hull at short and brought Cooper home. Hull stopped the ball behind the second base bag, got up on one knee and threw home. The throw appeared to beat the runner, but Livreri was ruled to have interferred with Cooper. Jenny Sibert pinch ran for Glenn and took third on a groundout to Kendall Fearn. Ashley Dimkich doubled to left to put UK up 2-1.

The Rebels came up in the fourth and promptly took back the game. Caitlyn Paus led the inning off with a homer to left center. The UK leftfielder crashed into the fence and came out of the defensive lineup, but stayed in offensively as the designated player. After the short delay, Fearn stepped up to the plate and took a pitch to nearly the same spot that Paus' homer landed. The homer by Fearn was the second for her on the year.

Shannon Crisp (2-0) notched her second win of the year in a 5.0 inning performance. Crisp allowed two runs on seven hits, while striking out six and walking one.

Christie Robinson picked up her second save of the year in a two inning effort. Robinson struck out two and retired six of the seven batters she faced. She entered the game with a runner on first, but got the next three batters out.

UNLV faces #13/14 Washington following the Illinois-Chicago vs. Southern Utah contest.
