White Out

Feb. 18, 2006

RENO, Nev. - Saturday's game between UNLV baseball and its rival Nevada, Reno was canceled due to snow on the field at Peccole Park and in Reno.

The two teams will try to play Sunday's game, which is scheduled to start at 1:00 p.m. (PST), weather permitting.

Last year's series between the two clubs was moved from Reno down to Las Vegas due to snow and following last season UNR installed FieldTurf on the infield and outfield to help prevent cancellation of games. However there was too much snow on the field with more snow in the forecast the rest of the weekend.

Today's forecast in Reno called for an 80-percent chance of snow and a high of only 36 degrees. Sunday's forecast is only slightly better, with the chance of snow only 30 percent and an afternoon high of 37 degrees.
