Final Stats

HONOLULU - The Rebel softball team (12-12) managed only three hits and seven base runners in its 2-0 loss to UC Santa Barbara Friday afternoon in the Hawaiian Airlines Spring Fling Tournament. UNLV falls to 1-2 in the tournament hosted by the Hawaii Rainbow Wahine.

UNLV's Christie Robinson (4-3) tossed a complete game two-hitter in taking the loss. She struck out three and walked two. Only one of the two UCSB runs given up was earned.

The Gauchos scored both runs of the game in the top of the third. UCSB loaded the bases following a leadoff single, a hit by pitch and a walk. With one out, a groundball was hit to Caitlyn Paus at second base. Paus misplayed the ball and it allowed the runners in scoring position to score.

Shannon Crisp collected two of the three Rebel hits on the day, while Brittany Freight had the third. All three hits went down as singles.

Up next for the Rebels are back-to-back games against Detroit (1 pm Hawaiian) and Hawaii (3 pm). The two games close out UNLV's stint in the Islands.
