Final Stats

Fullerton, Calif. - The Rebels (13-17) jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead on #20/18 Texas A&M (18-8) Friday morning in Fullerton, Calif., only to have the Aggies score eight unanswered runs in the 8-3 contest. UNLV plated three in the first, while A&M evened the score with three of their own in the second. A 35-minute rain delay halted the game in the third inning. The clouds dispersed long enough to let the Aggies push across five more runs in the fourth and fifth innings.

UNLV began the game on the right track offensively with a one-out single by Brittany Bolinger. She then stole second and came around to score the game's first run on a single to right field by Maggie Livreri. Following a wild pitch, Shannon Crisp brought Livreri home from second with a double down the left field line. Crisp scored when A&M's Sharonda McDonald misplayed a fly ball off the bat of Caitlyn Paus. Paus wound up making it to third base when McDonald's throw home went past the catcher.

The Aggies knotted the score at 3-3 with three runs on three hits in the bottom half of the second. A walk given up by Christie Robinson (4-6) got the A&M offense on track. The walk was followed in succession by a single and a hit-by-pitch. The three runs came across off of two singles and a fielder's choice. Robinson was able to get out of the inning with help from a putout at home and a fly out.

A&M pushed its lead to 7-4 with four runs on four hits and one Rebel error in the fourth. All four hits were recorded as singles, while three of the four runs were earned.

Becky McDonald tossed the sixth inning for UNLV and surrendered one run on two hits. She struck out the first two A&M batters she faced, but allowed a triple and a double to score the team's eighth run.

Next up for UNLV is a 11:15 am contest with Fresno State on field #2. Due to rains Friday evening, the game has been pushed back two hours and fifteen minutes from its original 9 am start time to accomodate the completion of Friday's schedule. Win or lose the Rebels will play Sunday morning.
