Gantcheva Falls, Friday Match Moved Back To Campus

March 2, 2006

LAS VEGAS - UNLV's Elena Gantcheva lost in straight sets in the round of 16 at the Mirage Cup to Angela Haynes on Thursday at the Darling Tennis Center, marking the end of the sophomore star's run at the pro tournament.

Gantcheva will now concentrate on the Lady Rebels' two key dual matches this weekend -- one of which will have a different venue than previously released.

The school announced that because of scheduling conflicts, Friday's match between No. 44 UNLV and No. 26 Michigan has been moved from the Darling Center back to the Fertitta Tennis Complex on campus and will start at 10 a.m. instead of 1 p.m.

Saturday's match between UNLV and No. 61 Oklahoma is still scheduled to be played at the Darling Center as planned and begin at 10 a.m.
