LAS VEGAS - UNLV football made an unusual national television appearance this month as the Rebels played host to the Food Network.

In an episode of the popoluar series "BBQ with Bobby Flay," the Rebel gridders were part of a segment detailing the team's weekly barbecue feast following in-season Thursday night practices at Sam Boyd Stadium.

Filmed in early November of 2005, the Las Vegas-themed episode titled "Crazy 'Cues 2" made its debut on June 24 with re-airings coming at a later date.

The show chronicles celebrity chef Flay traveling the country in search of all that is grilled, smoked, barbecued and enjoyed. Flay hit the smoker during a Rebel practice and then spoke with UNLV head coach Mike Sanford as the team hit the training table.
