LAS VEGAS - UNLV baseball had nine players selected to the 2006 Spring Academic All-MWC team, including five repeat selections, the league announced this week.

Matt Luca and Matt Wagner were named to the team for the fourth-consecutive time. Luca also earned a MWC Scholar Athlete Award for the fourth-straight time as well. Willie Bowman, Alex Chalfant and Koji Pupo were all repeat selections.

To be eligible for selection to the Academic All-MWC team, student-athletes must have completed at least one academic term at the school while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better, and be a starter or significant contributor on their team. To be eligible for selection as a MWC Scholar-Athlete, student-athletes must have completed at least two academic terms at the member institution, while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better, and have participated in varsity competition for their athletic team.
