LAS VEGAS - The UNLV men's basketball team has placed four student-athletes on the Spring 2006 Academic All-MWC team.

The four Runnin' Rebel players selected to this year's Academic All-MWC squad are senior Louis Amundson, senior Ricky Morgan, junior Michael Umeh and junior Wendell White.

Amundson, who has been named to the team for the fifth straight year was a university studies major with a 3.03 cumulative grade point average. Morgan was also a university studies major with a 3.02 GPA.

Umeh and White both return for their senior seasons in 2006-07. Umeh, a kinesiological sciences major with a 3.18 GPA, has now been selected to the team for the third straight season. White is majoring in university studies with a 3.10 GPA.

To be eligible for selection to the Academic All-MWC team, student-athletes must have completed at least one academic term at the school while maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better and be a starter or significant contributor on their team.
