Ranking The Rebels

Aug. 7, 2006

LAS VEGAS - Four UNLV football players have been ranked among the top 30 at their respective positions while one rookie Rebel was tabbed a redshirt freshman All-American by College Football News.

Senior lineman Howie Fuimaono (Chula Vista, Calif.) was tabbed the No. 15 defensive tackle in college football for 2006 while former USC transfer Eric Wright (San Francisco) is listed as the No. 15 cornerback heading into the season. Junior place-kicker Sergio Aguayo (San Jacinto, Calif.) also comes in at 15 while junior Beau Bell (Tustin, Calif.,) is the No. 29 linebacker overall.

Also, Rodelin Anthony (Immokalee, Fla.) is one of just two wide receivers listed on CFN's 2006 Redshirt Freshman All-America Team.

Wright is listed as the Mountain West Conference's No. 3 pro prospect while former USC transfer quarterback Rocky Hinds (Los Angeles) is No. 1 among the league's "Breakout Players." Another transfer, former junior-college receiving star Aaron Straiten (San Francisco) is right behind at No. 2.

UNLV opened its preseason practice on Monday and the Rebels kick off their season on Sept. 2 at home vs. Idaho State. Season and single-game tickets are available now by calling (702) 739-FANS or logging onto unlvrebels.com.
