TOLEDO, Ohio - The No. 5 UNLV men's golf team is in seventh place after the first two rounds of play at the Inverness Intercollegiate played Monday at the Inverness Club (par 71, 7,255 yards).
The Rebels (312-299--611, +43), followed up a first-round 28-over-par 312 with a second-round score of 15-over 299 for a two-round total of 43-over 611, which puts them in seventh place, 17 shots back of leader TCU. UNLV's second-round 299 tied them with TCU, USC and Texas A&M for the lowest score of the second round.
TCU (295-299--594, +26) leads the field by eight shots over USC (303-299--602, +34) and Coastal Carolina (299-303--602, +34). Georgia (305-301--606, +38) and Florida (303-303--606, +38) are both tied for fourth and round out the top five.
TCU's Jon McLean (69-72--141, -1) has the tournament's individual lead at 1-under and leads the field by six shots. UNLV senior Ryan Keeney (74-74--148, +6) is in a tie for third, seven shots back.
Other UNLV scores: junior Jarred Texter (78-76--154, +12; T26th), junior C.J. Gatto (78-77--155, +13; T33rd), sophomore Seung-Su Han (84-72--156, +14; T37th) and sophomore Blake Trimble (82-81--163, +21; T65th).
The tournament will conclude with 18 holes on Tuesday.
