The UNLV women's basketball team, who breathed new life into the season after winning three of its last four games, are now in a position to make a run into the top-three of the conference if they can win a pair of home Mountain West contests this weekend, beginning with Thursday night's nationally televised matchup with Wyoming. The game will tipoff at 7 pm in the Cox Pavilion.

It will not be an easy path for UNLV (7-7, 1-1) by any means however, as the Cowgirls are 10-3 on the year and coming off an upset of No. 25 New Mexico last week in Laramie. Utah visits on Saturday, and is a surprising 2-0 after rallying past SDSU by three on Thursday night, before breaking New Mexico's 35-game home MWC win streak on Sunday in a one-point win.

UNLV also has a ranked win under its belt, an 89-71 rout of No. 19 DePaul on Dec. 28 in Las Vegas. The Lady Rebels have also dominated Wyoming on their home court, having won 10 of 11 games, including nine straight against the Cowgirls, with the lone loss coming in 1996.

A win for UNLV would also be its fourth two-game win streak of the year. The Lady Rebels have followed two losses with two wins for the first 12 games of the year, before breaking the streak with a win over San Diego State on Saturday night, following a loss at current MWC leader and 25th-ranked TCU.

With the win over the Aztecs, UNLV moved to 7-0 when it has a better field goal percentage then its opponent, 7-1 when it outrebounds its opponent, and 5-0 when scoring 70 or more points.
