The final two games of the Scarlet-Gray World Series will be played this Friday and Saturday afternoon at Earl E. Wilson Stadium as UNLV baseball wraps up its fall schedule.
Game four of the series is 12:05 p.m. (PT) tomorrow and then the final game of the set is Saturday afternoon with a scheduled first pitch of 12:05 p.m. as well. Stephen Singer gets the start on the mound for the Gray on Friday against Marc Baca of the Scarlet. Thomas Whitsett will get the nod on Saturday for the Gray while Scarlet will counter with Matt Hutchison.
The series is tied at 1-1-1, with Scarlet winning game one, game two ending in a tie and Gray knotting things up with a win last Tuesday. Through a points system though that keeps a running tally of things such as two-out hits and full-count battles, Scarlet leads the series 78-68.
"It is nice to see Gray close the gap with Scarlet in overall points after getting a strong pitching performance on Tuesday from Steve Rinaudo," head coach Buddy Gouldsmith said. "As the score tightens, emotions are running high and everyone is playing extremely hard and competitive."
Every game of the Scarlet-Gray World Series is free for the public to attend.
