LAS VEGAS - Brittani Smith has signed a national letter of intent to play for the UNLV Women's Basketball team starting in the fall of 2008-09, head coach Regina Miller announced on Friday.

Smith, a 6-3 center from Coweta, Okla., averaged 10 points and six rebounds per game last season while leading Coweta High School to the semifinals of the Oklahoma state tournament. She also picked up all-conference honors in the Metro Lakes conference.

"Brittani will compliment our post game next year," said Miller. "She is one of two post players that we will sign in this recruiting class. Brittani will enhance our rebounding ability as well as provide us with another offensive threat around the basket."
