COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Air Force scored the lone goal of the game less then seven minutes into contest to hand the UNLV men's soccer team a 1-0 loss in the final game of the regular season for both teams on Sunday afternoon. The loss gave the Rebels a final record of 7-10-2, their best since a 12-8 mark in 2002, and 3-7 in the MPSF. The Falcons improved to 5-12-1, 3-7 in league play.
Andy Nigro scored the game winner for Air Force, as he scored from 12 yards out to the near post in the 7th minute. Josh Rhynard and Chris Mathews were credited with assisting on the score. UNLV did get its chances to score, as the Rebels outshot Air Force 11-5 in the first half, and 18-12 for the game, but couldn't come up with the equalizing goal.
Roland Swanson received the start in goal for UNLV, and finished with five saves, while Brian Guyette posted eight saves in net for the Falcons.
