Rebels Show Well In Northridge Tourney

LAS VEGAS - The UNLV Rebel volleyball squad played in the Cal State Northridge Spring Tournament on Saturday, April 28 and finished with two wins and two ties in its four matches. Each match was limited to two games to 30 with rally scoring or 55-minutes duration.

The Rebels opened up play with a 9:00 am contest with Long Beach State. UNLV defeated the 49ers 30-21 and 24-22.

At 10:00 am, the Rebels squared off with UC Riverside and wound up with a tie. UNLV won the first game, 30-24, and lost the second, 29-31.

UNLV got back on the winning track with scores of 30-26, 30-26 over UC Santa Barbara at 11:00 am.

In the Rebels final match of the day, the host Matadors tied UNLV with scores of 30-28, 22-26 at noon.

The Cal State Northridge Spring Tournament concludes the 2007 spring season and will play as a precursor for the fall season.
